DRAGONFLY SERIES

Was walking my dog yesterday when I noticed all these dragonflies flying all over the place. Must be mating season or something as I’ve never seen this many dragonflies in a day. Here are some of the brave ones who sat still for me despite my iphone getting too close to photograph them.

  2. Excellent shots of some often-challenging subjects! They are definitely doing their “end of season shopping,” as adults of the non-migratory species are likely wrapping up the adult stage of their life cycles. Once the eggs are laid, the adults tend to die off and we won’t see dragons again (above the water’s surface, anyway) till early to mid-summer.
