SUNRISE IN PARADISE

I’ve been absent for a while so my apologies for keeping this page as dark as a starless night. Thankfully, morning has broken and I’m back with some sunshine ready to revive this page with more of my photography. I may have stopped posting but I’ve never stopped taking pictures. In fact, the photo above was taken this morning during my morning walk with my dog. This pathway to the beach is one of my favorite spots in my neighborhood and I’ve always wanted to capture the sunrise from here. Today I got lucky as the sun rose at the most perfect spot in the horizon, which was beautifully framed by the swaying palm trees, lush shrubs, trees and the sandy pathway. I used my iPhone 11 Pro Max to capture this photograph using the wide angle mode to capture everything. I’m happy to be back and I hope you all regularly visit my page again.

MORNING WALK SHOTS

Every morning when I walk my dog we always head to the beach to enjoy views like this. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the sand so the boardwalk is the closest we can get to enjoy the beach. During my walk the other day, the sea was so calm it was almost like a lake. There was no breeze in the air and the humidity was at record high. The sun was already way above the horizon and the entire sky was curtained by these wispy cirrus clouds. Everything was so still as if they were posing for a painter…or perhaps a photographer. I immediately pulled out my iPhone 11 Pro Max and took these shots using the wide angle lens setting. The photo above was the very first one I took and is my favorite. I believe the beach is the perfect place to start the day…it is both calming and energizing.

COLORFUL BERMUDA

June of last year I went on an 11-night cruise along the New England area onboard the Celebrity Summit, which then crossed the Atlantic to Bermuda for a 2-day stop before returning to New York. It was my first time in this British territory and was amazed by the beautiful mix of Caribbean and English vibe on the island. The colorful houses look like a page out of a children’s book while the white sandy beaches with endless torquise blue waters is a piece of heaven on earth. I took multiple photos of the beaches and coves but will post them another time. For now I’ll be featuring the beautiful Bermudian landscape and the charming and colorful homes that dot it.

SOUTH FLORIDA DREAMIN’

I consider myself very fortunate to live in this part of the country as other people have to save money and plan vacations just to experience this.  Meanwhile, I wake up to this every morning as part of my daily routine…I jump out of bed, put on my flipflops, leash my dog and walk 5 minutes to the beach to greet the sunrise. Each morning may not be as dreamy as this but watching the sun rise from the horizon is quite a liberating experience.  To live near the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is like living in a dream…and moving here is probably one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.  My encounter with the sunrise every morning rejuvinates and at the same time excites me…and thankfully, my ever reliable iPhone is always in my pocket ready to capture the promise of another beautiful day.

BEAUTY AFTER THE FURY

I was driving out of a shopping mall parking lot when I saw this magnificent display of colors in the darkening sky. I had to step on my brakes, pull out my phone and roll down my window in order to capture the beauty before me. Mother nature sure has her ways of making us shudder in fear as well as exclaim in wonder. Just a day before, she was unleashing all her fury on us then a day later here she was flaunting off her breathtaking beauty. This photo was taken a day after the hurricane Matthew threat to my home city thus the title of this post. By the way, thank you all for your kind messages on my previous post…it was comforting to read them while waiting for the arrival of the hurricane. I’m also happy to announce that we luckily dodged the storm with no significant damages.  This won’t be the last so I will need to always be prepared.  I guess it’s also the price we pay for living in this tropical paradise state of Florida.
