The walls of the Fort of San Cristobal in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico have “garitas” (guerites/sentry boxes) at various points around the complex. They once provided a vantage point to the guardsmen watching and guarding the sea shore while at the same time protecting them. Today, the fort is a museum preserved to remind visitors of the once immense powers of the Spanish monarchy. In this photo, the redness of the bricks were further enhanced by the golden light of the setting sun emphasizing its rich contrast to the deep blue waters of the Caribbean Sea as well as that of the light blue sky.
My home i will pay to go back there
